Video Reveals Harry and Meghan Unimpressed with ‘Cheap Seats’ at Bob Marley Premiere: ‘Life on the D-List

It wasn’t exactly royal treatment.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a high-profile appearance at the premiere of “Bob Marley: One Love” in Jamaica earlier this week. However, the couple experienced a surprising turn of events as they were ushered to seats several rows away from the front, contrary to the typical VIP treatment.

In a recently surfaced video, Meghan, 42, and Harry, 39, were visibly surprised when ushers directed them to seats located at least three rows from the event’s focal point.

Harry appeared puzzled by the seating arrangement, and Meghan had to gracefully manage her elegant black gown to fit into the unexpectedly snug seating.

Following the release of the footage on Thursday, the Sussexes faced public ridicule for their placement in what some referred to as the “cheap seats.” One commentator sarcastically remarked,

“Life on the D-list,” encapsulating the awkwardness captured in the video.

“OMG. Overdressed and sitting in cheap seats… Where was Jamaican PM sitting?” another ticked user wrote.

“Dressed to the nines, but made to sit among the regular folks… Should have worn a button down and jeans,” a third sassily said.

“Disregarding the seating, some viewers also expressed concern about the apparent cleanliness of the floor in other videos, suggesting it would be challenging to remain impressed under those circumstances,” commented another observer.

However, despite the less-than-ideal seating arrangements, Meghan and Harry embraced the occasion by engaging with other notable personalities on the red carpet.

The couple posed for photographs alongside political figure Marlene Malahoo Forte and Brian Robbins, the president and chief executive of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon.

Meghan and Harry were also photographed in a friendly moment with Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness, who is known for his anti-monarchist stance.

The interaction was criticized as “insensitive,” particularly in light of the ongoing health challenges faced by King Charles and Princess Kate.

King Charles, 75, had recently undergone treatment for an enlarged prostate, and Princess Kate, 42, had been hospitalized for abdominal surgery.

The timing of the public display with an anti-monarchist figure raised eyebrows, considering the health battles within the royal family.
