Instruction:
The Weighted Grade Calculator allows you to calculate grades that are weighted differently. Steps involved:
- Each category (e.g., Exams, Homework, Quizzes) has a percentage weight assigned to it
- Within each category, individual assignments are scored based on points earned versus maximum points
- The average percentage for each category is calculated independently
- Each category’s average is then multiplied by its weight percentage
- The weighted category averages are summed to determine the final course grade
For example:
- Exams (40% weight): Average 85% → Contributes 34 points (85 × 0.4)
- Homework (30% weight): Average 90% → Contributes 27 points (90 × 0.3)
- Quizzes (20% weight): Average 88% → Contributes 17.6 points (88 × 0.2)
- Participation (10% weight): Average 95% → Contributes 9.5 points (95 × 0.1)
- Final Course Grade: 88.1%
The calculator also provides grade forecasting based on completed and remaining weighted categories.
