100,000 Laptops up for grabs under PM Laptop Scheme 2025

On 24th April, Higher Education Pakistan (HEC) and the Prime Minister’s Youth Program announced a new phase (#ChuLoAsmaan) of the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme for 2025 to award 100,000 laptops to talented students on a 100% merit basis at various universities across the country. This announcement was stated on social media platforms and the PMYP portal, where you can apply in the new phase.

Students enrolled in graduate studies, MPhil, 4-year, 5-year BS programs, and other doctoral studies are eligible to apply for these laptops free of cost. Applicants will be able to apply until 20th May, 2025. Applications received after the due registration date will not be entertained.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students with above 70% or 2.70/3.0 GPA obtained.
  • Currently enrolled in BS, Master’s, M.Phil, or doctoral studies.
  • A student from a university mentioned in the eligible universities list by HEC.
  • Not already received a laptop earlier by PMYP.

Application Process

The application will be conducted online through the Digital Youth Hub online portal (laptop.pmyp.gov.pk) and mobile application. Secondly, the verification of applicants will be carried out by the focal person of their respective universities. Here is a step-by-step guide to the registration process:

Registration

Applicants must visit the official PMYP (Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme) website to register for the scheme.
Accurate personal information, including the CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) number, mobile number, and email address, must be provided during registration. It is crucial to ensure that the information submitted is correct, as any incorrect or false data may result in the cancellation of the registration.

  1. Account Login

After completing the registration, applicants need to log in to their account using the provided credentials.

2. Application Status
To check the status of their application, applicants should navigate to the “Application Status” section on the website. This section will provide them with information about the progress of their application.

3. Eligible Universities
Applicants should consult the List of Eligible Universities available on the website to determine if their university is eligible for Phase VI of the scheme.

4. SMS Notification Issues
If applicants encounter any problems receiving SMS notifications during the application process, they can register a complaint by sending an email to PMYLS@hec.gov.pk. The email should include detailed information about the problem and their cell phone number.

By following these steps, applicants can successfully apply for the scheme and stay updated on the progress of their application.

Verification

After submitting an application on the portal, it will be sent to the focal person of at the university for further verification and correction of student records. You can find the focal person of your university from the portal where you apply.

Lastly, after successful verification of the application, a merit list will be issued, and based on that list, selected students will be granted laptops.

Deadline

Students can apply before 20th May, 2025.
